Boise State Broncos Football – A Great Move To Another Conference
For a long time Boise State University played with the WAC (Western Athletic Conference) in which it was represented by the Boise State Broncos. This teams reputation was considerably upped by its famous 13-0 WAC win in 2006. They capped it all with an overtime win over the Sooners of Oklahoma at the succeeding Fiesta Bowl. They also made their name as the second collegiate football team to wind up its season with a 14-0 score. And in the deciding match, a year later, they out-classed the TCU Horned Frogs who had been undefeated until then,
A competitive spirit had always existed between Boise and the University of Idaho. The competition had developed into rivalry bordering on aggression by 2008. The bickering has come so far as to prompt the Bronco management to switch to the Mountain West Conference for the season of 2011. What sparked the decision was the controversy about an Idaho U publication listing some good reasons to hate Boise. That, from the point of view of Boise’s President Bob Kustra, was enough reason for the boycott. He wished to avoid his team playing again against the team of Idaho.
Even if the issue about the controversial publication is all over the media and the internet, others think the reaction of the Boise president was not called for. Whoever may be right, one thing is certain. The Broncos won’t be competing against the Idaho team in the 2011 conference. But what is to prevent them from meeting up at the finals?
The Broncos are record holders in consecutive victories. It has won 22 of these. The team also has the most victories in one season, a total of 14. It also has the widest margin of victory ever in the first Division of the NCAA games. This was a difference of 74 over Humboldt State.

The record for rushing touchdowns is held by Ian Johnson with a total of 58. For receiving yards, the holder is Ryan Ikebe with 2,741.
Single game records are not lacking either with this team. For 2003, the player with the most passing yards in a game is Ryan Dinwiddie, totaling 532. The most passing touchdowns in a game for 1974 was Jim McMillan with his 6 instances. For 2000 the person with the most all-purpose offense in a game is Brock Forsey with 292. As a whole the team scored the highest in a game for 2003 with their 77 score versusr San Jose State.
A number of wins have also been scored in Division I-A Bowl Game Appearances. The Humanitarian Bowl of 1999 was the first. This was followed by a win in the same event in the following year and then two years after that in 2002. The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl of 2007 and 2010 was also dominated by them.
The title of All-American player has also been awarded to several of the team members..
