LSU Tigers, a Team That Does all things right
Few things would have been able to be predicted on the 2010 season. Alabama fell apart, Auburn is in the National Title game and LSU is sitting poised to make a run next season. This is the story of the SEC. it was not that long ago that many people thought that the SEC was a joke conference and that they had no real claim to be in football. Fast forward a few seasons, and the SEC looks to be the dominate force in all of college football.
The Tigers went to a season of 10-2, with the only two losses on the season coming at the hands of Auburn and Arkansas. Despite these losses, the team looks to be a viable contender for a BCS game, while it will not be the Title game, there is a good chance that they will get one of the top games. Even Alabama and the Nick Sabin force were not able to stop the LSU ground game. This was a leading cause for the team’s success.
While the teams passing game were not the best in the world, there were considerable moments that made the team look a lot better than they had in previous years. This will be an area that will see some improvements in the coming months. Expect to see resurgence in the teams passing game in the coming seasons. The quarterback that they have at the moment seems to be a top notch and looks to be able to bring the heat to the teams passing game.
The head coach is another aspect that allows the elements of the LSU game plan to all come together; there is a strong leadership in place that is able to direct the players down the field and allow them to score points on a routine basis. The Cotton Bowl will be the team’s first real chance to prove them and make a case in the last part of the season for next years push for #1. There needs to be a lot of work done during the off season and as a result allows the team to get all of the elements in place.
The one thing that separates the team form the rest of the SEC is that the players realize that there is not a single player that makes things happen, but a team effort in place. All of the pieces will be in place and when the 2011 season kicks off; the Tigers will provide a grand show for the rest of college football to watch.
