Philadelphia Phillies History

Since their initial time in the Major League Baseball association, the Philadelphia Phillies have seen a lot of trials and managed to come out well, even if not on top. They are something of underdogs in the MLB, but they have fought hard to earn their place in championship games. In two of their toughest battles, they played the Braves and the Blue Jays for the world series. Even though they’ve seen many players come and go, they’ve stayed at about the same level. Their jerseys bear the colors of the US flag.

Important players for the Phillies have ranged from several different people, but Joe Carter and Roy Halladay have been among their most notable ones. In fact just recently Hallday helped the team win against the Marlins in May of 2010 where he pitched an entirely perfect baseball game. The team has also had a lot of MVP awards including one for Cole Hamels. They have their own marker to showcase the Veterans Stadium where they once played all their home games.

While the team has never been among the most talented of all the teams in the MLB, they have seen their fair share of success. Many of the Phillies games have been against formidable opponents, and they have played in quite a few different world series games. They have also held a long standing rivalry with the New York Mets - and this has continued to be an interesting source of fun competition for the two teams, and a way to stir up fans of both teams in respective locations.

While the Philadelphia Phillies are an old team, they have been around more than 50 years. They have seen a lot of pennant victories and play well even under tiring conditions. Even if they haven’t made it to the top heights of MLB success, they have found a lot of star players over the years, a lot of whom have ended up on other teams.

Indeed, no team can be solely gaged by how many games it has won - and this team is no different. The Phillies have stayed true to their home spirit by persisting through several stadium changes and the changes of their team coaches, something that is always tough for a team to endure.

The Philadelphia Phillies have been able to play great baseball for years, and will definitely keep doing so. While they haven’t been in the top spots for the MLB rankings of their own division, they have still been very respectable on the whole for their years - and they have won a great fanbase, many of whom are dedicated to the one team alone.

Without doubt, the Phillies will stay one of the most important teams in MLB history due to their ability to stay a good team even when faced with the trials of changing coaches and stadiums quite often. They will continue to have numerous fans, as well.

While some of the team’s fans have clamored about their jerseys, they are currently sticking to the design they have now. Time will tell whether or not this design stays popular with the team. The design of their jerseys is a largely individual thing so it is hard to say how much it will change in the coming years.
