Cardinals vs. 49ers Preview, Score and More

A week ago, the San Francisco 49ers had a chance to win out, take the NFC West title and get a home game in the playoffs.
Sunday, if they lose out (last Sunday was a 25-17 loss at St. Louis), the 49ers will finish in dead last.
So this one is a matchup of 5-10 teams, and the loser will be saddled with the last-place finish in the worst division in the NFL.
Some may well have expected that from the Cardinals at the season’s start, but the 49ers were supposed to be the team that was going to win it all. Instead, Mike Singletary has been fired, the search for a coach and general manager (not in that order) is on and the 49ers are back to square one.
That’s not quite the case for Ken Whisenhunt and his Cardinals. The first 15 games of the season have spelled out the case for the Cardinals not being able to win without a good man behind center. The two-time defending champions while Kurt Warner was the QB, Arizona has gone through Derek Anderson and Max Hall, and now that both are hurt, rookie John Skelton is going through a trial by fire.
